Describe what type of testing does the R&D result need?
The test system provides more information BIMOD activities divided into phases:

  • Step 1 – automatic data capture of diabetic patients placed in databases distributed at the centres of diabetology ASL members of the experimental protocol, where one is installed and the OneTouch application;
  • Step 2 – encoding data acquired and automatic deletion of references useful to identify the individual patient;
  • Step 3 – Power of a centralized database with anonymous data of diabetic patients;
  • Step 4 – Test of Intelligence and producing reports.

What is the time needed for testing?
Step one: 2 days for each centre and diabetes;
Step two and tree: 4 days;
Step four: 5 days.

What is the cost needed for testing?
Costs for human resources: 30 days in the unit cost of 600 Euros or 18,000 Euros;
Costs for the provision of equipment: a body of 2,000 Euros

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc.)

The development team has been made ​​available to the Telematics University  of Leonardo da Vinci(www.unidav.it) Ltd. UD’Anet society, technology spin-off of the University G. D’Annunzio of Chieti -Pescara. In addition, the Electronic University and members of the ASL Memorandum of Understanding with the Region of Abruzzo, have provided medical diabetologists and researchers.

In this phase the development of the prototype system was completed by BIMOD Ud’Anet and was taken over by UNIDAV, waiting to be transferred to the Region of Abruzzo and the AS participants Memorandum of Understanding. In this regard it is considered necessary to involve the technical structure of the University d’Annunzio, who oversaw the development.

What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
For the testing phase of the system must meet the following technical issues:
• Installation and configuration of RDBMS;
• configuration of telecommunication connections and communication protocols;
• Web server configuration;
• management of relational databases;
• Management of applications for data mining and business intelligence.

What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?

Being a computer application (software) does not require new technical resources for the development and implementation of funds but mainly economic.

Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.

The technical development of the system BIMOD was completed to 80%. It remains to make some tools for data analysis and dynamic pages containing 30% of reports.

As a product computerized (web application for data management), the raw material is essentially the invention and the design human, in addition to the technological systems necessary to use for the realization of the idea.

What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?

Given the necessary human resources and equipment already provided by UNIDAV is deemed feasible the start of experimentation.
