PART B: VALORISATION PLAN

Partea B: Planul de valorizare

SECTION I: ESTIMATION OF COSTS

1 Taking into account the rest of the cost evaluation please provide an overall estimation of the total costs for full deployment/production of the R & D result.
… in terms of IPR protection
7.900 EUR for protection of intellectual property rights

…in terms of product development
100.000 EUR for product development without an existent manufacturing preparation

5.000 EUR if the necessary endowment for full deployment exists

…in terms of mass production
It is considered that electromechanical systems for coupling-decoupling automatically the brushes of induction motors will be not executed in mass production, because the number of these systems is equal with the number of induction motors with slip rings, motors which are not manufactured in mass production.

… in terms of marketing
Marketing costs are not necessary, because the RD result is an element of other product, which has the marketing cost foreseen and assured.

2 Based on the above assessment as well as the marketing information please provide the correct estimation of the price for R&D product in correlation with costs

SECTION 2: QUALITATIVE FACTORS

3 Dimension of identified target groups
The target groups are the producers and repairers of inductions motors with slip rings. There are 20 potential producers estimated to be interested in the manufacture of the electromechanical systems for coupling-decoupling automatically the brushes of induction motors with slip rings.

4 Evaluation of financial Risks for R&D result
Because the electromechanical systems for coupling-decoupling automatically the brushes have been already certified, implemented in manufacturing and 64 products in 6 types-sizes have been executed for SC Electroputere SA, Electrical Rotating Machines division, it is considered that no financial risk of the RD result exists.

SECTION 3: IDENTIFICATION OF FINANCING SOURCES

After evaluating all the above mentioned criteria, please tick the best financing source for the achievement of R&D result (i.e. own capitals, banking credits, venture capital, business angels, etc)

1. EURpean Funding

Sectoral Operational Programme Increase of Economic Competitiveness

- Seventh Framework Programme – FP7

2. National Funding
National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation

3. Private funding
Own capitals

- Banking credit instutions

4.  Other

Potential funding sources:

Accessing of the structural funds through the Sectoral Operational Programme Increase of Economic Competitiveness  POSCCE – PRIORITY AXIS 1 – An innovative and ecologically efficient production system for the case in which the SME has not the endowment necessary for the full deployment of the product.

The product was financed within the Nucleu Programme and was finalized by the prototype certification. For that reason, financing in the National Plan for Research Development and Innovation, Sectoral Plan for RDI  of the Ministry  of Economy or Nucleu Program is no more necessary.

In this case, the applicable alternative is the private investment, namely those companies which have the financial resources necessary for implementing the project and are willing to support and promote the electromechanical system for coupling-decoupling automatically the induction motors with slip rings they produce.

SECTION 3: FINAL EVALUATION

It is requested a final evaluation considering the funding opportunities you believe most suitable for the exploitation of the R&D result, considering the possibility of the creation of a spin-off, further research, in particular, a cost/benefit analysis and a financial projection for the R&D result, type of collaboration identified (i.e. Licensing Agreement, Technical Cooperation, Joint Venture, Manufacturing Agreement, Commercial Agreement with Technical Assistance, Creation of a spin-off, Joint further development)…

The activity was focused of solving a special technical problem, namely the design, achievement and certification of an electromechanical systems for coupling-decoupling automatically the brushes of induction motors. The research result is a functional product with meets the requirements of the specialized market, being manufactured by ICMET Craiova and delivered to SC Electroputere SA, Electrical Rotating Machines division.

Because it is an already tested product, the capitalization of the research result can be done by technological transfer to a partner willing to apply the result and to diversify the manufacture, or to other producers of induction machines with slip rings.

Financially, the exploitation of research results does not imply risks because the product was tested and already more than 60 systems have been sold, in many constructive variants.

The timeliness of financing the technological transfer of this project results also from the manufacturing technological process which was set for multipurpose machinery and equipment.

According to the above mentioned the collaboration for exploiting the RD result could be licensing agreement, technical cooperation and commercial agreement with technical assistance.

Decision of evaluation (Please keep only the appropriate)
