Technical feasibility

SECTION I: Testing

1 Has the R & D result been tested?

The following question is replied according to the reply in question 1

·       If yes

1a In what mode has the result been tested?

•             Prototype

•             Pilot Application

•             Alpha/BETA testing

A prototype has been created and also a pilot application has been tested within the framework called CogHelp.

The solution supports persons with cognitive abilities unlike the ordinary. In the given field manual tools, mainly test sheets and mechanical ability developing sets were known, with which, when filled in or used, the cognitive abilities of the given person could be measured and even developed to a certain extent.

1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
The base concept has already been verified, and practical tests are made with interactive and non-interactive material in one institute. A more interesting finding is the persuasion of the educators that the system is able not only to provide but also to motivate social activities among the mentally handicapped persons and collaboration in term of groups. In addition, the level of creativity is increasing in most of the cases.

·       If no:

1c Describe what type of testing does the R&D result need?
Detailed comment

1d. What is the time needed for testing?
1e. What is the cost needed for testing?

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
All the necessary human resources are incorporated, development some more skill developer games, and a data base (with the necessary hardware solution) would be necessary.
2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
A database server, database development, implementation of communication system and clients are needed.

2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
Development and/or buying of analytical software for evaluation of database.

2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
The base concept has already been verified, and some papers are made regarding this unusual but useful idea. Lots of skill developer games are designed and the practical information management module is patterned thorough the casual framework of therapy aims. Practical tests are mainly made with non-interactive material.

SECTION 3: Deployment

3a Define the demands for large scale production in terms of
  • Materials
Only promotional material (a leaflet, a web site) and course material will be required.

  • technologies, tools, machineries
Software development environment (the entire environment (applications, servers, network) that provides comprehensive facilities to computer programmers for software development) for programming, more places to validate the result, buying some skill development games, introducing touch screen as an option.

  • Staff effort
Some software developer and experts in field of mental handicap. PR expert, sales persons.

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
The base concept is verified, practical tests underline the availability of the system. Some more development is needed to complete the system.
