Description

The donkey, as always, served in many countries of the world, especially those with economic value of agri-food, a fundamental role, not only in farm work but also in everyday life. His extraordinary qualities of hardiness, robustness and adaptability to any work environment, and have allowed the use even in harsh conditions for other pets. However, the transition from a pastoral to an agri-industry has resulted in a drastic reduction in this particular animal of some breeds, including the donkey of Martina Franca, the Amiata, the Sardinian and white Asinara , which are now considered endangered.

Solution provided by this research refers to the sexing of the semen, or the flow cytometric separation of spermatozoa X and Y on the basis of the DNA content is still the only reliable technique for obtaining the predetermination of the sex before fertilization.
