|After the spreading of computer networks so-called clouds in an increasingly wider sphere for the purpose of running IT applications that have a large computing demand and that use a large amount of data, e.g. complex simulations, physically remote from the place where used on one or even more high-capacity computers. GPUs suitable for handling and processing image information containing a large amount of data are known of. However, these IT units are suitable for running other, general-use algorithms faster, e.g. financial software. The solution is aimed at the simpler realisation of the fast and comfortable running on these remote IT devices. The solution makes it possible for the user to not be confronted by software use problems in the case of running on the remote IT device, and for the user for it to seem as if the GPU card required to run the application is physically in the user’s own computer device and not installed in the remote access server.|
|2||What is the problem/need/knowledge gap that the research result is responding to? How was it addressed before?|
|A significant inconvenience of running applications on the remote IT devices currently available is that in general it is only possible to use the programs located on the given server, which makes the remote user’s task more difficult, for example, by the fact that the given software that the user wishes to use is not on the remote IT device, and so the task to be completed may only be carried out using other programs. In such cases the user must have the programming knowledge that the software on the remote computer demands.|
|3||What is the potential for further research?|
|Realising the principle of the solution in other program languages, improving virtual connection between the server and the workstation.
Development possibilities: link together more servers to be seemed a larger capacity server. For the client to provide a large capacity virtual machine that is physically more servers linked together.
|4||What is the proposed method of IPR-protection? (patent, license, trademark etc.)|
|As it is a software product, only a US patent application can be submitted. In Hungary registration in the voluntary registry of works is possible. A trademark application may also be submitted to support the identification of the service and providing clients with information.|
|5||What are the steps that need to be taken in order to secure the IPR-protection? What is the cost of IPR-protection?|
|Registration in the voluntary registry of works ensures copyright declaration for the creator. It costs HUF 8,000.
Before submitting US application practically an expert opinion should be requested from an attorney operating in the given country. The costs of submitting the application are between USD 1,600-2,400.
The cost of submitting a trademark application is HUF 240,000.

|The solution makes it more convenient and simple to run programs on the GPU card of IT equipment, which results in a quicker, cost efficient application.|
