A limited prototype test has done, because there was no dedicated server for this purpose. Test and tutorial samples for clients are also available.

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

 

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc.)
Prototype is running. The project owner, who is the developer, is not sure whether it is worth to continue the task. Currently they have very limited resources, only one researcher and developer, and some amount of hardware to do testing on. More human resources needed especially developers. A future one year work is necessary and strong computing base, with dedicated server about 12.000 EUR worth.
2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
Finish the implementation of the remaining CUDA functions, and optionally implement OpenCL interface and methods. New features needed: Share one GPU across multiple users (currently only one client/GPU is possible), multiple GPU access for clients (in different servers also).

 

2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
Nothing special

 

2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
At prototype level it is tested. More test and performance analysis are needed.

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

 

1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
This is an API above the CUDA (NVIDIA’s parallel computing architecture). The prototype of the server is tested. Test and tutorial samples for clients are also available. It needs some future work and tests.
