SECTION 2: QUALITATIVE FACTORS

Dimension of identified target groups
Target groups are big Lead Users from the public and private sector dealing with marine and water pollution.

The system is designed to be used also on small size airborne in order to monitor areas like harbours, oil/gas terminals, coasts, oil plants, etc.

The potential end-users include commercial ports and combined military/commercial ports, Coastal Guards, Port Authorities, petroleum and oil companies, oil plants, regional and local agencies for environmental monitoring and protection.

Evaluation of financial Risks for R&D result
No particular financial risks to be underlined for R&D result as costs for production are not relevant. An investment for the engineering is needed.

 

 

 

 

SECTION 3: IDENTIFICATION OF FINANCING SOURCES

After evaluating all the above mentioned criteria, please tick the best financing source for the achievement of R&D result (i.e. own capitals, banking credits, venture capital, business angels, etc)

For further develop the Research, in cooperation with EU partners, the above mentioned EU programmes can be addressed.

The Centre is already participating to some EU Funded Research initiatives.

Also Interreg programmes should be addressed which are more cooperation oriented then Research, and give the possibility to transfer the knowledge at interregional level and start pilot actions, involving i.e. Lead Users from the private and public sector.

In particular, considering the territorial position of CARSO, the following programmes should be addressed:

- cross-border Italia-Slovenia programme;

- the South East Europe programme;

- the IPA programme;

- the MED programme.

SECTION 3: FINAL EVALUATION

It is requested a final evaluation considering the funding opportunities you believe most suitable for the exploitation of the R&D result, considering the possibility of the creation of a spin-off, further research, in particular, a cost/benefit analysis and a financial projection for the R&D result, type of collaboration identified (i.e. Licensing Agreement, Technical Cooperation, Joint Venture, Manufacturing Agreement, Commercial Agreement with Technical Assistance, Creation of a spin-off, Joint further development)…
 The R&D has a high potential of exploitation.

A testing phase has to be completed and the Centre is looking for a support from a strategic partner. Ongoing collaborations are already developed with important target users as ARPA FVG and the Port of Trieste (at least at regional level).

At international level some requests already come from the Asiatic market. Considering that there has not been a specific marketing action, the results should be considered very positive.

A marketing action should be taken into consideration for further promote the product.
