Research in this area has focused on developing methods, tools and technology for drying agricultural products with solar energy. Using these tools, enhance the quality of dried products, to ensure better management of material resources and reduce the specific consumption of energy and materials.

There have been studied and developed the solar drying systems with automatic control, their design, namely a specific set of automation elements.

The validation process of constructive solutions includes two stages:
• building the  real model;
• prototype testing, probing and homologation.

Time for testing, probing  and approval is estimated to be within 90 working days.

Costs of research and results validation are estimated at Euro 2100.  Costs related to testing, probing and homologation of numerical model are estimated to be 1600 Euro.

The research team of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Craiova, has a long experience in terms of methods, tools and technologies for drying agricultural products with solar energy.

The existence within the organization of equipment and software is a sound basis for stages of design, testing and probing.

What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?

Introducing in manufacturing a new product requires the adoption of the required organizational framework and a clear concept about the steps to be taken.
Stages of introducing  a new product on  market of are as follows:
- Market research;
- Fundamental theoretical research on product content;
- Technological and applied research,;
- Creation of new product components;
- Production prototype;
- Technical testing;
- Testing the acceptability on the market;
- Product homologation;
- Contracting between company and customer;
- Sales promotion;
- Market launch;
- Control and monitoring the products over consuming cycle.
The new product is the result of a set of methods, tools and technology for drying agricultural products with solar energy.

To set-up the technology for drying agricultural products requires the following technical resources:
- Set-up kinematics of drying equipment;

In literature there is a number of dryer equipment for agricultural products. By using advanced software to ensure unitary concept, high unification degree of solutions, covering the existing applications areas, as well as a large increase in productivity.

This research addresses these needs, in an attempt to cover the vast issues solar drying of agricultural products in a unified framework.

After implementation, testing and setting all suppliers of materials, components and sub-assemblies required to manufacture the equipment for drying the agricultural products, as well as delivery terms, then proceed to implementation in production, and its promotion on domestic and international markets.

What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?

Care este evaluarea generală a fezabilităţii tehnice pentru rezultatul CD?

Project for drying installation of agricultural products is focused on research on automatic control of process parameters and the opportunity of using solar energy to replace conventional energy sources.
Modern command and control systems facilitate the drying process by largely introducing the process computing.
It will also develop new methods of analyzing data obtained during the experiments. Thus, each stage f the process include: 1) set-up the automation system; 2) system design; 3) concept development; 4) analyzing the results,
5) testing in practice.
