PART B: VALORISATION PLAN


1 Please provide a short description of the state-of-the-art and/or current trends in the field? How does the result fit into it?


In recent years, there have been preoccupations on the monitoring of the renewable energy systems during operation, real time acquisition of parameters and their processing for scientific or commercial purposes.

Such application was developed at the University from Mokpo, Korea. In a paper published on internet, a system for monitoring remotely a combined source composed of photovoltaic panels with total power of 1 kW and a wind turbine with the power of 5 MW is described.  Information on wind speed, solar radiation, values of measured voltages and currents, also the alerting in case of some exceeded values in different points of the circuit are processed and transmitted by internet and by text messages on mobile phone.

The Technical University from Crete put in operation a system for measuring the meteorological and electric parameters for a wind generator of 2 kW and photovoltaic panels of 450 W. The data are processed with an acquisition board by the program LabView and displayed on a computer.

In Romania, the University from Târgu Mureş developed a study referring to the behaviour of a photovoltaic installation which supplies a lighting system, and the Oil and Gas University from Ploieşti achieved a monitoring system for the energy delivered by a wind system and a solar system.

 

 

 

2 What is the problem/need/knowledge gap that the research result is responding to?  How was it addressed before?


The renewable energy systems are systems for delivering the energy, for which the designing and performances depend firstly on the climatic conditions specific to their location. An optimized system, placed in a certain location, could be inadequate for other location, even if the application and the user requirements are identical;

The comparison between the performances of a renewable energy system and also between  their components is difficult, even for similar applications;

Besides, in the first stage of achieving this process in the field of renewable energy we must answer to some questions such as:

Which is the energy potential of the location?

What quantity of energy will be generated in one year?

What will be the energy price?

 

 

3 What is the potential for further research?

The model was achieved depending on the local needs. It can be configured in accordance with the requirements. The data acquisition system can be also improved by adopting a less expensive solution, and by using it together with an energy management system.

 

 

4 What is the proposed method of IPR-protection? (patent, license, trademark etc.)


The product has not been proposed for protecting the intellectual property rights, but it is foreseen that, when the functional model has the final variant, it could be the object of a patent.

 

 

5 What are the steps that need to be taken in order to secure the IPR-protection? What is the cost of IPR-protection?


The steps that need to be taken for ensuring the intellectual property rights are:

1. Preparation of the technical documentation of the invention and drawing up of the type-forms of the Patent application 800 EUR

2. Record the Patent application at OSIM 30 EUR

3. Publishing                                                 50 EUR

4. Examination                                           500 EUR

5. Patent issuing                                       100 EUR

6. Maintaining in force the patent        6420 EUR

Total                         7900 EUR

6 What is you overall assessment of the scientific maturity of the research result?

The comparison between the performances of a renewable energy system and also between  their components is difficult, even for similar applications;

Scientifically, it is estimated that the results will have the following effects

- diversification of ICMET Craiova activity in the field of electric power equipment quality;

- possibility of designing and achieving such systems for setting optimally the energy potential of a location and for monitoring the renewable energy sources;

- increase of the knowledge base of the specialists in a very up-to-date field, that of green energy;

- contribution to opening new opportunities for achieving interdisciplinary research at national and international level.
