The prototype of the Magneto-Therapy System consisted of several units for treatment of different  parts of human body or animal’s body. All these units were tested in a real life in the premises of a hospital of the University of Medicine, Sofia, Bulgaria and some other big hospitals. The prototype was used by physicians in the hospitals for more than 6 months and was applied on more than 200 patients.
1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
The system for magneto therapy has been tested  for  treatment in the cases of the following diseases:Pulmonal diseases:

Bronchial asthma, bronchitis, bronciectasies, pulmonal tubercolosis, pulmonal and pleural inflammations and others.

Cardio-vascular diseses:

Arterial hypertension, ischemic heart diseses(IHD), heart attack, arterial obliteration of the limbs (endarteritis obliterans) acute and chronic venues insuffiency, Burger’s disease etc.

Surgical, orthopedics and traumatologic diseases:

Fractures, postoperative fistulas, infiltrations and others. The low-frequency magnetic field improves conditions for heal of the injured tissues and bone, promoting resorbtion of an inflammatory and traumatic edema, removing pain and itch. This is very important for old people and in the case of diabet disease.The inductors of apparatus can be situated on the clothes or on the plaster in the case of fractures, immediately after the plaster setting is made.

Deases of the joints and theirs peripheral tissues (periarthritis):

Osteoarthritis, rheumatic arthritis, arthrosoarthritis ,etc.

Neurotically diseases: Neuritis, radiculitis, discopathy, stroke ,etc.

Dermatological diseses: Skin allergy, dermatitis, psoriasis, sclerodermy and others.

Gynecological diseases: Adnexitis, parametritis, mastitis.

ENT diseases: Sinusitis, obits, M.Meniere, etc.

Ophthalmic diseases: Dystrophy of the ophthalmic nerve, ratites, etc.

Urological diseases: Prostatitis, postoperative fistulas, etc.

Dental diseases: The low frequency magnetic field can be recommended for therapy of Periodontitis chronica granulomatosa /diffusa cum/sine fistula, localisata, extracerbata/.  These diseases develop after periodontis acuta or more often they spring up as complication after treatment of palpate or gangrene. According the classical methods in these cases the therapy is too long. There are problems with the hermaticallization of the teeth. Because of this magneto therapy is used  together with the inner root treatment. The space configuration of magnetic field in the area of treated tooth can be determined by respective location of two inductors.

It’s important to know that thanks of application of the low frequency magnetic field often is observed decreasing of the blood pressure.

It is necessary to do the application of magnetic field carefully in the cases of febrile statuses and cancer diseases. The application of magnetic field is contra-indicated in the cases of implemented cardio stimulators .

The results of the testing correspond to a great extent to the initially defined task – we  can say 99%.

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
The research product, Magneto-Therapy System, is a collective result of a team consisting of electronic, software, mechanical and chemical engineers,  IT specialists, technicians. The development team has technical resources for the production of small series of the product. It would be better if it would be possible to provide an extension of human resources, hardware for measurement and production, new laboratories.The developers have resources to consult and advice for research, technical and organizational issues and to answer any questions while the product is producing.
2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
  • Survey on the last medical investigations in the area of magneto-therapy;
  • mathematical model according the ideas of the physician;
  • computer model;
  • engineering model;
  • prototype of each unit of the system;
  • standardizing of each unit;
  • technical tests;
  • clinical tests.
2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
-instruments;-measuring systems;

-Software for visualization and optimization of space-temporal configuration of low frequency magnetic field.

2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
Prototype and small series are produced and are used in some hospitals in Bulgaria.

1 What is your overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
It is on world level – it has a registered patent in Bulgaria, Germany, UK, Japan, Hungary
