1 Please provide a short description of the state-of-the-art and/or current trends in the field? How does the result fit into it?
Until now, Autism Spectrum Disorder software refers to educational material gathering. Using advanced signal processing and cutting-edge technology, NOESIS provides an integrated educational environment which is closer to the kids’ needs and, therefore, realistic and more efficient. It is the first ASD educational tool, which uses both biofeedback information and kid’s response in an adaptive way that fulfils each child’s specific educational needs.

2 What is the problem/need/knowledge gap that the research result is responding to?  How was it addressed before?
The problem that NOESIS responds to is the need of individuals with ASD for learning, communication, sociabilility, creativity, and playfulness. The problem until now was addressed by simple computer software, physical toys and activities supervised by the parents or educators.

3 What is the potential for further research?
The potential for further research is to develop the product according to various ages and degrees of ASD. The software can be enriched for example with information about a specific art, sexuality or simple mathematics).
