PART B: VALORISATION PLAN

1

Please provide a short description of the state of the art and/or current trends in the field. How does the result fit into it?
The state of art relates to the detection of traffic offences while preventing situations of possible accidents by signalizing dangerous situations.

2

What is the problem/need/knowledge gap that the research result is responding to?  How was it addressed before?
The aim of the system is to detect in real time traffic congestions on highways or roadways without the need of any operator. The system is based on acoustic sensors that must be placed on regular intervals along the dual carriageways independently from the direction of travel.

3

What is the potential for further research?
Categorisation of traffic

4

What is the proposed method of IPR-protection? (patent, license, trademark etc.)
The algorithm in itself cannot be protected by a patent; it appears possible to protect it only by copyright.

5

What are the steps that need to be taken in order to secure the IPR-protection? What is the cost of IPR-protection?
See the foregoing answer.

6

What is your overall assessment of the scientific maturity of the research result?
It needs to be better tested and developed.
