In the environmental noise control practice, noise mapping is a powerful tool by its capability to show noise situation of large areas on a single diagram. Besides noise monitoring has developed itself to the level, that it can provide noise level data in real-time. The need for a method that can possibly join and necessarily extend the capabilities of the two above is obvious and real. This would be the method of real-time source-selective noise monitoring and mapping.
