SEA is a leading company for production and marketing of products for automated gates. The company has an internal field that deals with the prototyping and product development.  SEA buys  raw material and works in all phases of the production process becoming the finished product after a long series of tests of controls and progressive. The product OPEN PLUS, consists of a programmer-transmitter for the management and the programming of the remote controls with rolling code and a programming unit RX, all developed and tested in all its main components within  SEA in order to obtain a production process of quality, capable of generating products technologically advanced and reliable.


Please describe and discuss the testing results

Before being marketed in the territory of the European Union, a radio product must meet the requirements specified in the Radio and Telephone Terminal Directive (R & TTE) Directive 1999/5/EC. One of the four major and mandatory requirements of the R&TTE regards the effective use of spectrum, typically verified through testing according to harmonized standard ETSI. The United States and Canada have a special requirement for radio transmitters, some of which differ from those in Europe. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allows a very small number of testing laboratories to act on his behalf.
The other requirements to be met are:
Electrical safety: NF EN 60950 (October 2000)Device SELV / Class III
Electromagnetic compatibility: EN 301489_3 (July 2000) NF EN 50130_4 (April 1995) + A1 (1998)
Efficient use of spectrum: EN 300-220_3 V1.1.1(September 2000).

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development


To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )

The SEA is an international company with headquarters  in Italy and centres around the world, in France, Germany, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, USA and Swiss. It is equipped with design workshops, highly advanced and sophisticated computer equipment test positions and testing that occur on each component and the main equipment performance characteristics and reliability for each step of the production process. The company has therefore developers and interior designers, as well as skilled workers and advanced robotic technology for the production, which create products that can be marketed worldwide.
In this case the result of the trial was to provide an innovative and effective, a system that allows the management and the personalization of the automated systems SEA with the aid of a software to be installed on the PC and then a portable programmer. For the “management” you must use the transmitters or smart dual roll ladybird plus plus and receivers or signal box roll roll plus. All the PLUS System allows and provides management and remote programming and a high degree of customization of the system. The product was introduced on the market for about two years and, given the volume of sales is well appreciated by the same because it is integrated with all devices rolling code transmitters and receivers.


What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?

As a product marketed for about two years, with excellent results at an international level, given the high degree of innovation that has the flexibility and ease of use with all devices rolling code transmitters and receivers.
It, as the characteristics of which has, no particular problems in marketing, but like most products of the same category, it needs constant development to stay competitive in the market, especially in terms of software.


What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?

Present no need for new technical resources for the production of the product, since it is a product already on the market in which the machinery and equipment are present in the company. It should, however, in view of the tendency of the company towards continuous research, product innovation but also process, make some investments to upgrade the machines (the most efficient, safe and environmentally friendly) and the  software whose evolution is continuous, making it obsolete even over several months.


Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.

Surely the product has achieved a good maturation since its first release dates back  about two years ago. Its high quality has allowed to satisfy the demands of a very demanding customers from the qualitative point of view, the duration in time, the reliability, flexibility of use and practicality of use, which allows management and programming of the receiver and the remote transmitter and remotely via PC, mobile phones, etc. This makes more efficient the work of installers that do not necessarily bear  SINCE over the place, can you work on the software, saving time and money too.

SECTION 3: Deployment

The raw material of which is composed of the transmitter-programmer is the plastic, copper, silver and anything else necessary for the production of micro chip etc.., Lithium for batteries as well as various materials widely used for the realization of components that complement and are readily available on the market in every country where the company operates.

The company has the technology and equipment needed for the design, development, implementation and testing of the transmitter-controller. Starting from modern design systems, software and high specialized technical skills, passing through the robotic machinery for the production of the components up to the testing bench in the workshop and to that for the control of the perfect operation realized in the final work.

  • Staff effort

The staff is composed of experts specializing in  product design, prototyping and technical product standardization, specialized for manufacturing process control, specialized operators for the mass production of final products.

What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?

The overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the product is obviously positive since it is a product currently on the market and highly competitive domestic and international markets, since the ease of use and integration with the most devices rolling code transmitters and receivers
