The innovation of the project PROGIMM the idea based on the product development cycle (in general), proposing the development of software and hardware products and technologies (aimed at DESIGN immersive) and a distributed platform, integrating the power of Visualization Centres advanced computing resources like GRID.

The system hardware / software required by the project is adaptable to different architectural solutions, passing from one configuration to light, able to satisfy the requirements of technical studies design small-medium, to a full configuration for the parameters of the research centres of medium-large, equipped with adequate computing hardware technologies, interaction and immersive visualization.
This allows to evaluate, in immersive mode, the digital project during the design phase linked to the product development cycle, interacting with 3D objects represented in a more intuitive than the traditional CAD design, so as to realize the digital prototypes very similar to the real one allowing the company to make products more reliable, high quality and more durable, with a reduction in marketing costs.


What is the Unique Sales Proposition of the potential product?

PROGIMM is an innovative project which aims to introduce into the process design using a CAD and immersive COOPERATIVE, where the human-machine interaction occurs in a more natural and straightforward, with the use of devices tracking, feedback force and advanced visualization, overcoming all the limitations of display and interaction interfaces presented by classic hardware / software. In this way the designers-users, even if geographically distributed, may be virtually projected within a single simulated world, in which the interaction with the scenario takes place in virtual mode multisensory (sight, touch, hearing), thus more direct and natural.
Herein lies the uniqueness of the product, given that many existing software applications like CAD interfaces using classical interaction such as mouse and keyboard, and collaborative.

This is a large scale project just completed, which intends to build a product to be marketed internationally by creating a partnership between the European and international companies specialized in design and validation of digital prototypes, such as Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation , etc..

Essentially PROGIMM intends to develop an existing product, the design-planning software, widely used internationally. The ultimate goal of the project is intended to provide an immersive CAD indifferent hardware configurations: the configuration FULL (which includes the use of advanced visualization centres as centres of virtual reality) to the configuration LIGHT (intended for design studies), and then essentially addressed to all companies involved in design, with greater attention to the sectors of Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation, etc..

The design provides for the development of an existing technology and then it is inserted into an existing market with the aim of improving the conditions of design and virtual prototyping of the product with a significant improvement of the same in terms of quality, efficiency, and reduction of time production.

The aim is to create a wide network of international partnerships between industries operating in the design and production in general, with special attention to areas of ‘Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation, etc…

SECTION 3: The Competition


What is the competition within your target market?

Currently, competition in the field of computer products dedicated to the CAD design is very toughs there are many companies, large and small that are involved in this field.
The project aims to create an innovative product that can replace immediately marketed products on the market, offering a tool that revolutions in the modes of interaction between user-designer and the CAD world, no longer based on the use of traditional devices (such as mouse, keyboard, monitor and 2d windows), thus allowing greater participation (also emotive / emotional) through the use of new processes / methods closer to human gestures than translated, by force, from traditional interfaces.


What competitive advantages will the introduction of the new product ensue?

The competitive advantages related to the new product are significant and numerous.
