Please provide a short description of the state-of-the-art and/or current trends in the field? How does the result fit into it?

Vă rugăm să faceţi o scurtă prezentare a celor mai importante realizări în domeniu şi/sau tendinţele actuale? Cum se încadrează rezultatul CD în acest context?

In petroleum processing industries, chemical and petrochemical, as well as other industries, technological devices are found, whose shape and size, make them fir into category of column-type chambers, slim devices, with relatively high ratio between height and diameter.Rompetrol Refining, a Company belonging to Rompetrol  Group, is conducting research on modernization of such apparatus for processing the oil products.

The current trend, creating chambers with increasingly larger heights, having in view that their diameter increases too and – given the requirements to achieve various technological processes – is justifying the concern for the systematization of knowledge about the column type chambers.

In the present project it is proposed to provide technical information on the problem of a seismic analysis of coking chambers for processing oil products.



What is the problem/need/knowledge gap that the research result is responding to?  How was it addressed before?Care este problema/necesitatea/deficitul de cunoştinţe la care a cărei soluţionare contribuie rezultatul cercetării ? A fost acest aspect abordat anterior?
Knowledge gap the research result is addressing:
- Sizing of coking chambers;
- Seismic analysis of a petroleum coking chamber using the finite element method.The project is beneficial for the environment and safety of persons carrying out their activities in this field.



What is the potential for further research?Care este potenţialul pentru cercetarea viitoare?
Scientifically and technically, it is required to develop various virtual models of coking chambers subject to seismic loading. The research results are within the research and promotion  directions of structural analysis using the finite element method.The need to develop such products is justified by the resulting consequences (low manufacturing cost, reliability).



What is the proposed method of IPR-protection? (patent, license, trademark etc.)Care este metoda propusă pentru protecţia drepturilor de proprietate intelectua (brevet, licenţă, marcă înregistrată etc.)
It is proposed the protection of intellectual property rights of coking chamber experimental model through the technology license.




What are the steps that need to be taken in order to secure the IPR-protection? What is the cost of IPR-protection?Care sunt etapele ce trebuie parcurse pentru a se asigura drepturile de proprietate intelectuală? Care este costul pentru asigurarea proprietăţii intelectuale?
The main steps that can be mentioned in the license contract refers to the following:
- The right to unlimitedly use license;
- The geographical area where the licence is manifested;
- Duration of time and causes that can cause withdrawal of the license;
- The set of services that the licensee is going to give  to the beneficiary company;
- Measures to protect designs, technologies and other items subject to intellectual and industrial property right.



What is you overall assessment of the scientific maturity of the research result?Care este evaluarea generală a maturităţii ştiinţifice a rezultatului CD?
Develop a set of original knowledge aimed at seismic analysis using a MEF coking chambers for oil processing.The mechanical loadings summing one component owed tothe total force of weight of plant and one component owed ro the vertical seismic loadings. The numerical simulations from this paper is made by considering the maximum values of the seismic loadings distributed to sections which initial was accepted to divide the plant. That’s why in this study the structure of installation was divided in 56 equal sections.


The FEM analysis of the stress fields:

- The FEM analysis of the stress fields correponding to the ensemble spherical bottom-dome;

- The FEM analysis of the stress fields corresponding to cylindrical body;

- The FEM analysis of the stress fields corresponding to the ensemble taper bottom-suport of plant.


The analysis with the Finite Element Method provides the spatial fieldsof deformations and stresses with high accuracy in optimum time. The maximal value of the resultant deformation are equel with Urez = 25,35 mm. The rezultant of stress on joint between the cylindrical body and the taper bottom have a maximum value equal with σrez ≤ 76,63 daN/mm2. The maximum effective values of stress are under admissble limit σadm/100000 cycles = 95 daN/mm2 coresponding to values give by STAS 2883/3-88 for alloy steel 16Mo5b which are used to build the plant structure.

The numerical results obtained in this study are commonly used in engineering practice to design optimal spatial structure of coking chambers of oil or to predict and verify the effective efforts of the structure. This method enables a detailed study on the areas with extremely high precision and therefore is a useful tool in the design system.
