1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results 

The hybrid sun-wind energy system operates from since about 2 years and supplies the lighting installation from the courtyard of ICMET Craiova. 

The system provides enough energy for supplying the consumers due to the availability of resources and to the fact that they are approximately complementary, but it has in its structure accumulators for supplying the consumers during low wind or little sun periods.


SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development


2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. ) 


The project team has in its structure specialists from the project competence field:  mechanical (2 specialists), software (1 specialist), automations (2 specialists), electronics (1 specialist).

ICMET Craiova  has the capability to achieve the subassemblies and electric wiring closets necessary when mounting and commissioning. The Products and Prototypes Development section is endowed with performant machines and equipment for CNC machining



2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed? 


- assessment of the available resources;

-   choice of the adequate system for that place;
–   system designing;
–    system exploitation and maintenance.


2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product? 

Because there are small dimension, combined systems for generating the electric energy, applicable to isolated sites, special attention has to be paid to the system autonomy. Depending on the power necessary to the consumer, the number of accumulators in the system will be increased. 




2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development. 

The experimental model was achieved at ICMET Craiova and is functional. 

The system for generating electric energy is a functional variant of a hybrid system for generating electric energy, having wind and sun as source. The combination was chosen depending on the resources available in this area, but such hybrid systems for generating electric energy can be implemented by using hydro energy or power units, depending on the availabilities of the location.

The equipment market is continuously developed, and the equipment which composes the systems is improved, in terms of performance increase and appearance of new technologies.

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment


1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result? 


The hybrid system for generating electric energy from renewable sources can meet the requirements of the consumers from isolated areas, the daily demands of electricity, requests of higher consumption capacities depending on the local conditions of wind and sun, also on the system configuration, needs to increase the generated power for users which require it, with a view to assuring the consumption for different occasions. The general assessment is 4.5
