How to Add a Valorisation Plan

In this tutorial we will demonstrate how to add a Valorisation Plan (VP) in the INTERVALUE Collaborative Platform. Let’s get started!

Final Product

The following screenshot shows the homepage of a completed Valorisation Plan. Each Valorisation Plan is a complete website. It includes the R&D Results Evaluation Templates along with relative files, demos, images, video, etc.

Step 1 – Authentication

1.1 Start by login as an Expert using the Username / Password combination that you have received from an INTERVALUE partner

1.2 If you choose the “Log In” from the Experts’ Toolbar on the top you will be transfered to the login screen.

1.3 After the login process your name (or username), photo and Experts’ Toolbar will be appear in the homepage.

Step 2 – Valorisation Plan Creation

2.1 Hover over “My Valorisation Plans” and click “Create a Valorisation Plan”

This Menu appears throughout the website as far as the user has logged in.

2.2 In the “Create a Valorisation Plan” Page choose a URL and a title for your Valorisation Plan. After that click the “Create a Valorisation Plan” button.

Step 3 – Valorisation Plan Settings

3.1 Your Valorisation Plan has been created. Click “My Valorisation Plans > Your VP Title > Dashboard” or “Login” to start adding data to your VP.

3.2 As has been already mentioned each VP is a complete website. Dashboard provides access to VP components. Click “Screen Options” in the top-right to customise Dashboard view.

3.3 Show only “Right Now”, “Recent Comments”, “Incoming Links”, “QuickPress” and “Recent Drafts” modules.

3.4 Provide a short description of the Valorisation Plan by (1) clicking “Settings” panel, (2) inserting the description in “Tagline” text field and (4) click “Save Changes”. Optionally you can also change the VP’s title.

3.5 Setup “Reading Settings” by (1) clicking “Reading” in the “Settings” panel, (2) select “Home” as “Front page” and “Related Documents” as “Posts page” and (3) click “Save Changes”

3.6 Establish the connection between Valorisation Plan and R&D Result’s page on the R&D Repository by puting the Result’s ID from the Repository into the “Research Result ID” field.

3.7 You can find R&D Result ID in the end of Result’s URL in the Repository.

Step 4 – Integration of Evaluation Templates

4.1 Click “Pages” to view the VP’s sections.

4.2 Click one of the pages to view “Edit Page” Panel.

4.3 The editor’s toolbar helps you to accomplish advanced editing tasks.

4.4 Show only “Discussion”, “Comments” and “Author” modules.

4.5 Start the process of submitting your Evaluation Templates by clicking the “Paste from Word” button. A new window will be displayed where you can paste (CTRL+V) the text of your first template (i.e. “Technical Feasibility”). From the template word document you should select and copy only the questions and answers. Omit the first (cover) page and delete table rows with notes.

4.6 Paste from the Word window supports basic editing tasks. When you finish click “Insert” button on the bottom-right.

4.7 You can make changes to your document using the editor’s toolbar. When finished editing you can exit full screen and return to the main Edit Page panel.

4.8 In the main Edit Page panel you can continue editing, preview the changes and finally save changes by clicking the “Update” button.

4.9 You can see the published page by clicking “View Page” button.

4.10 Repeat this step in order to publish all the Evaluation Templates.

Step 5 – Insert Images / Image Galleries (Optional)

5.1 Click “Add an Image” button in the editor’s toolbar in order to show “Add an Image” Panel. Then, click “Select Files” button, select an image (png, jpg and gif formats are supported) from your computer and upload them.

5.2 Add title, select the alignment and size of the image and finally click “Insert into Post” to add the image.

5.3 In the editor you can select the image by clicking on it. You can edit or delete a selected image.

5.4 You can add text, update the page and view the final result.

5.5 You can also add Image Galleries to your pages. Click “Add an Image” button and then select the “Gallery” tab. Click “Select Files” and then choose and upload the images.

5.6 Click “Show” button to open the properties for each image and add the image title.

5.7 Arrange image order, ensure that Gallery Setting are the same as in the following screenshot and then click the “Insert gallery” button.

5.8 You can select, edit or delete gallery in the same way with images.

5.9 The Gallery consists of a number of thumbnail images. By clicking the images a larger version is displayed.

5.10 The visitor can browse gallery’s images by clicking the next / previous arrows.

Step 6 – Add Related Documents (Optional)

6.1 You can add documents related to the Valorisation Plan by using Platform’s Post feature. The posts can include articles, a slideshow demos, videos, presentations, etc.

6.2 The “Add New or Edit Post Panel” has the same functionality with the “Add New or Edit Page Panel”.

6.3 You can setup the Screen Options for the “Add New Post Panel”.

6.4 The “Insert more tag” button breaks a post into “teaser” and content sections. Type a few paragraphs, insert this tag, then compose the rest of your post. On “Related Documents” page you’ll see only those first paragraphs with a hyperlink (Read more…), which when followed displays the rest of the post’s content. The “Add Media” button displays the “Add Media” panel.

6.5 You can add files in the same way you add pictures.

6.6 The title of the file with a hyperlink will be included into the post.
