1a In what mode has the result been tested?

Alpha testing and pilot application of R&D result took place in high schools and universities during mainly (micro- and macro)economics lessons. The educational software and the connected material have been presented during as many as 4 lectures (3 different universities) and in 7-8 high school groups. Quite a positive feedback was given: through the project website about half of the participants wanted to keep in touch, many of them offered assistance to the future development/testing.
1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
Educators believe that the variety and the quality of the content that is represented by the software are able to support the educational approach that the research team followed.

The pilots involved a franchise network of schools in foreign languages and computing, a federated network of human resource agencies, and a multinational franchise network of telecommunications products and services.

Till the beginning of the fall semester of 2011 more than 500 students have been involved.

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

 

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
The product is a simplified version of the system used in Hungary for yearly planning (predicting, evaluating, controlling) by the ministry and finance professionals. Also a high amount of effort has been invested into the design and support the original system. (The mathematical core of the two systems is the same.)

Personal resources are already given (e.g.: the idea owner), a special multidisciplinary expert is needed in fields of programming, mathematics, theoretical economy and business. In terms of human resources, the team would need to be reinforced through recruitment of adequately experienced software developers.

 

 

2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
Enchanted communication opportunities implemented as a prototype. The main aim is that the product can also be used in a competition-based education network. Now user-role can be set by his or her own and the others are played by the machine. In case of this development the partners could be real people.

 

2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
The development of a new product on the basis of this R&D result will require purchasing some hardware equipment (developer PCs, test servers) and some software licenses for the development process. Some feedbacks are also needed at technical level.

 

2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
The modeling framework is feasible, limited testing already performed.

SECTION 3: Deployment

Only promotional material (a leaflet, a web site) and course material will be required.

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

 

1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
Even though the original modeling framework is already feasible, but the new graphical interface is in need of mass development. Full evaluation has not been completed yet; more work is expected to be done towards usability, controllability, error tolerance and efficiency. Limited testing already performed. Installation required for final demonstration.
