1a In what mode has the result been tested? 

•              Prototype

•              Pilot Application

•              Alpha/BETA testing

The software product has been tested as Prototype. Core functionalities of the product were tested and a set of requirements for future developments has been created.
1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
The product in currently impllemented in three production environments. So far, the implemented functionalities performed well. The benefficiaries are sasisfied with the so far basic implemented functionalities and  constantly require new functionalities to be implemented. 

Future developments of the profuct will need testing in production environments.

 

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

 

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
The research-development team does not have the necessary human resources for providing the necessary new functionalityes required by the current clients. Specialists required for completing the team are from the field of software (web) development, data analysis (machine learning, information retrieval), distributed programming, humman computer interaction. 

The research result is the consequence of some research and experimenting activities performed by us so far. The curent research and development team  is  willing to push this profuct forward into the direction of intelligent e-learning environments.

From this point of view, the research and development team is is available for technical advice, so as the potential partner could contribute to the improvement of the current status.

 

2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
The technical issues that need to be addressed are: 

-          Adding custom functionalities: Java web programming and development.

-          Providing intelligent character: Data Analysis – Machine Learning, Information Retrieval

-          Scalability of the application: Distributed Systems

-          Improving Usability: Humman Computer Interaction

2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
Technically, we need people that are familiar with the following domains: Web Programming in Java, Data Analysis (Machine Learning, Information Retrieval), Distributed Systems and Humman Computer Interaction.
2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
The technical development of the product is in the prototype stage. Core functionalities are developed and tested in production environments. The product needs: 

-          more fuctionalities, currently required by beneficiaries;

-          the embedding of the intelligent character;

-          the increase in scalability such that: the product may handle many users and large amounts of data.

-          the improvement of usability;

SECTION 3: Deployment

 

3a Define the demands for large scale production in terms of
  • Materials
The product needs an apropriate cluster of servers machines to run the product. 

 

  • technologies, tools, machineries
The product is based mainly on open source technologies, so no special requirements are necessary. 

 

  • Staff effort
Researcher and developers are needed. Assuming that current team has a managerial role, the following staff effort is needed: 

-          3 java web developers;

-          3 data analysts with solid background in software development, achine learning and information retrieval;

-          3 distributed software programmers;

-          3 staff persons with abilities to design, develop and evaluate user interfaces

-          3 staff persons for currents testing and mentainance activities

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
The technical fessability of the research result is high. The techical solution used for development of the product are of high tested quality. The core functionalities were tested and they performed very well.
