PILOT APPLICATION – A LABORATORY EQUIPMENT has been developed to light-treat products with different mass and geometry

The technology needs adaptation to the industrial application

1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
It is disclosed the process sequence to treat different products and it is disclosed how to treat them. During the tests, the process and the method to treat different products were disclosed but, right now, it is necessary to build the machine able to do it automatically

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

 

2a To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
The development team, as already done for some products, has all the necessary resources to develop the process and the method also for other products having the capability to state the needs to treat them

The development team has no possibility to build the industrial machine to apply the process and the method

 

2b What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
To be supported in the engineering steps to build the industrial machine

 

 

 

2c What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
Economical resources and engineering-technical support

 

2d Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
It is a good project and could be a very interesting application to increase the life of foods, in particular the shelf life of food products, adding them with quality

The idea has an high capability to disinfect the food products destroying the pathogenic microorganisms

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

 

1 What is you overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
It seems to be a very good idea having the possibility to increase the life of foods and that is a process/method which not only applies in products of our daily life, but also in products which have special destinations (i.e. military, charity assistance, natural disasters, and so on)

After this treatment the food product has a longer life, less micro-organisms and higher economic value
