Technical feasibility

PART B: VALORISATION PLAN

SECTION I: Testing

1

Has the R & D result been tested?

YES

In the sea

NO

The following question is replied according to the reply in question 1

If yes

1a

In what mode has the result been tested?

•             Prototype

•             Pilot Application

•             Alpha/BETA testing

There is a prototype which is complete

1b. Please describe and discuss the testing results
The test was made in cooperation with the OGS (National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics) and the results were positive.

If no:

1c

Describe what type of testing the R&D result needs

1d. What is the time needed for testing?

1e. What is the cost needed for testing?

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

2a

To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
The team is capable of developing and defining the product in house

2b

What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
The team is working on a second generation of the system to be able to optimize the new technical components available on the market

2c

What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
The group is complete and needs only one person for production

2d

Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
The project is defined in every aspect; it only has to be subjected to revision in order to become more performing

SECTION 3: Deployment

3a

Define the demands for large scale production in terms of
  • Materials
Necessary materials are all available on the market and any possible adaptations will be made in house

  • technologies, tools, machineries
Software development is made in house and tools are standard ones, also those of system control

  • Staff effort
As described above: one person for industrialization

SECTION 4: Overall Assessment

1

What is your overall assessment of the technical feasibility of the research result?
The system is complete and functioning in every aspect, and this was confirmed also by the tests made in the sea

KEYWORDS QUANTITATIVE ASSESSMENT (0-5).

Please put X as appropriate. 1 2 3 4 5
Adequacy of testing activity undertaken so far       X
Adequacy and availability of technical resources of the development team       X
Current development stage         X
Overall technical feasibility         X
