If no:

Describe what type of testing does the R&D result need?
The R&D result needs to fully developed both in its software and hardware components. Currently some laboratory tests have been performed on relevant algorithms but a full scale experimentation with a real prototype is still needed. 

 

1d. What is the time needed for testing?
Given the tight hardware and software coupling required, at least two-three years for implementation and testing are required.
1e. What is the cost needed for testing?
Personnel costs and hardware costs for product development and testing can be estimated around 300-400K€

 

 

SECTION 2: Current Stage of Development

 

2a

To what extent does the development team have technical resources for supporting the production of a new product? (Researchers, human resources, hardware, etc. )
At least one software developer and a robotics  engineer are required to carry on development and experimentation of the prototype. 

 

2b

What are the technical issues that need to be tackled for full deployment, if needed?
The feasibility of the idea has to be demonstrated by a prototype which still needs to be developed. 

 

2c

What additional technical resources are needed for the production of this new product?
Technical support from the robotic arm provided will be needed.

Overall assessment of the current stage of technical development.
The idea hinges on several algorithms and techniques that have been designed in a laboratory environment. Coupling with a real robotic arm and real experimentation with a prototype in real conditions are still to be done.
